PWRDF Wild Ride

Do you have a passion for cycling? Baking? Walking? Reading? No matter what your favourite activity, you’re invited to join the third annual PWRDF Wild Ride! This year our goal is to surpass last year’s result and raise $65,000, to mark PWRDF’s 65-year commitment to accompanying refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

This summer you are invited to join the third annual PWRDF Wild Ride as we mark 65 years of support for refugees and displaced people. Our partners are working to support refugees in Tanzania, South Sudan, Jordan, Ukraine and more. Join others across the country as we walk, cycle, roller blade, bake, read, knit, crochet, swim, kayak, canoe, dance and sing – or pretty much any activity you would like to undertake. Join the Wild Ride and put your stamp on it!

Last year was a wild success as 22 teams made up of 93 participants came together to put their stamp on it and participate in a record breaking campaign. In 2024 our aim is to raise $65,000 to mark our 65 year commitment to refugees and internally displaced people.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), this year more than 100 million people will be forcibly displaced or stateless – the highest number in history. Refugees often embark on dangerous journeys in pursuit of safety, and these journeys all-too-frequently meet a tragic end. According to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), migrant deaths in the Central Mediterranean have hit a six-year high in 2023.
