And it couldn’t be simpler; Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. That’s it.

In order to walk the Way of Love, we must remember that we cannot do this alone.

And when we truly serve God by loving others and welcoming in the stranger, the lost, the broken, we become new creatures in God. Our lives then become our offering of thanksgiving.

…your faith, no matter how big or small it may feel to you right now, can do infinitely more than you can imagine.

The question Jesus is asking of us: Will we see? Will we see with the eyes of our hearts who is sitting outside our gates, seeking refuge on our stoop? We have eyes to see, but do we have hearts to act?

What will you do to help spread the wealth of God’s love and hospitality?

God’s nature is love, and love looks like one who goes out tirelessly searching, because the one who is lost is so lost that they cannot find their way back home.

In this new year what will you choose? Are you prepared to find freedom in surrender? How far are you prepared to go to follow Jesus?

The time has come for us to choose. Will we take up our cross and follow God where God calls us? Will persevere in the midst of hardship and conflict? Will we be the light in the darkness when all other lights go out?

Will you be like Martha; frantically running around only focused on the particulars and with both eyes fixed on the future? Or will you be like Mary; kneeling at the feet of the Christ we see in everyone around us, focused on the here and now? God has given us this time, how will you use it?

…it is so very easy to slip into the comfortable, especially when we see so many great needs in the world. Please don’t turn a blind eye or assume someone else is better able to handle the needs that you see. The work of bringing about the Kingdom of God is for all of us and we each possess unique gifts that God needs to help create the Kingdom of God.

We need others who will share in our joys and our sorrows. Even at the very end of the gospels Jesus says, “And remember, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
