A letter from the Rev. Rob Schoeck
Dear friends in Christ,
Our annual Stewardship Season is once again upon us! Beginning Sunday September 22nd and concluding on October 20th we will ground ourselves in this theme of All Saints: Past, Present, & Future. And we will carry this theme forward in future Stewardship Seasons as we journey towards the centennial celebration of our current church in 2026.
To discern where God is calling this parish to be in West Broadway and beyond, we must first look back to take stock of All Saints’ history. We rejoice in the steadfast stewardship of generations of All Saints members that has given us this church that we see and experience today. All Saints has had an impact on this city and this neighborhood through our years of missional service. We have come alongside, accompanied, and supported generations of people in their spiritual journeys. Because of their offerings of time, talent, and treasure, we have inherited a diverse community of faithful disciples of Jesus committed to seeking and serving Christ in all people, loving our neighbors as ourselves.
The future of All Saints is a boundless blank canvas for us to shape and mold, like a potter at their wheel. It is our duty as the present congregation to carry on the work of the great cloud of witnesses who selflessly offered themselves to further the Kingdom of God, so that we can pass it on to the next generations of parishioners. These next five weeks provide each of us an opportunity to reflect on our spiritual journeys and all the unique ways we give and serve others. We can once again recommit ourselves to our various ministries and even try something different in how we offer our time and talents in and through All Saints. To aid our discernment, we will hear parishioners share their stories about how worship and service at All Saints has affected them.
Each of us is called by God, and our callings are unique to us. As Paul reminds us, we are each members of one body, and as such, we have a unique role. We are who are because of each of you and all the ways you give and serve, seen and unseen. Together we can gain strength from our past to carry on the work of God in this present time, so that we can ensure a bright future in the years to come. Thank you for all that you do. We are blessed because you are a blessing.
Sincerely,
Fr. Rob Schoeck
