Indigenous Peoples: Steps toward reconciliation

Renée McGurry, an Anishinaabekwe from Pinaymootang, will provide foundational knowledge about First Peoples in Canada and explore pathways to move forward in the spirit of Reconciliation. Topics will include land acknowledgements, worldviews, knowledge voids, Indian Residential Schools, pathways to allyship and meaningful ways of building new relationships with Indigenous peoples that are based on mutual respect and understanding. Participants will also explore steps they can take to act as allies as we move forward on a path of Reconciliation.  

Parking is available at Canada Life, and refreshments will be served. This free event is open to everyone.
