Coronation of King Charles III

The coronation of King Charles will take place on Saturday, May 6.

If you’re willing to get up really early, coverage will begin on CBC and CTV at 3 am CDT, starting with the procession to Westminster Abbey. The coronation ceremony itself will begin at 5 am CDT.

The Church of England has published the Liturgy for the ceremony, and, for the first time, have included a version with commentary, detailing the history and symbolism of the Liturgy. It is well worth a read.

A Canadian celebration in honour of the Coronation will take place in Ottawa at 9 am CDT, which will also be streamed on CBC.

In Manitoba, the Cathedral is hosting a celebration at 2 pm. Reservations are required, as space is limited. It will also be livestreamed on the Cathedral Youtube channel and on the Manitoba Government website. A gun salute at the Legislature will follow.
