Presented by the Outreach Team, this free seminar is facilitated by Renée McGurry, an Anishinaabekwe from Pinaymootang. Renée retired from education in 2015, after 35 years of teaching and leading Indigenous education for 26 schools in the St. James School Division. Since retirement, she has worked with the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba to provide training, professional development and classroom support to educators, schools and school divisions. Renée presently works as a self-employed Indigenous Education Consultant, offering a variety of presentations and workshops on Cultural Awareness, Reconciliation and Allyship.
She will provide foundational knowledge about First Peoples in Canada and explore pathways to move forward in the spirit of Reconciliation.
Parking is available at Canada Life, and refreshments will be served. This free event is open to everyone.
