Funerals

A funeral service to commemorate a person who has died provides an important opportunity on many levels.  Firstly, it provides an opportunity for family and friends of the deceased to honour the life they have cherished and to ensure that the departure of this life is treated with dignity and respect. It offers a supportive community for mourners to grieve. It also offers an opportunity to celebrate this life in the community of all those who have been touched by this person. And, perhaps most importantly, it provides for a public witness to God’s promise of eternal life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Funeral Services at All Saints

Please call the church office at (204) 786-4765 and ask to have the Rector (parish priest) call you back as soon as possible.  It is preferable to have this initial conversation prior to making arrangements with the funeral home if possible.  This enables the priest to have a pastoral conversation with you at this emotional time and to offer his or her experience in assisting you with the many decisions that need to be made.

Service Details

Our Church Administrator is able to prepare a suitable bulletin for the service incorporating appropriate statements and images that you may wish to include.  The priest will pass on any particular musical requests to our Music Minister.  If requested, All Saints can provide Sidespeople to help guide those attending the funeral with seating and service details.

Other Details

All Saints does not have a Parish Hall within the building for a post-service reception.  However, the large area at the back of the church is available for this, or there is an attractive room and outdoor patio overlooking the Legislative grounds on the 9th floor of West Broadway Commons next door to the church which can be rented for a reception.  Flowers for the service are arranged by the family, though All Saints can offer guidance with this.
